Wedding bells a-ringing
From the ever-popular Korean reality show – We Got Married – a very cute couple stand out & they are Jo Kwon from 2AM and Ga-In of Brown Eyed Girls. Their pseudo-married status lasted from end of 2009 to early 2011 and sometime in 2010, the couple went to Bali to shoot their wedding pictorial by In Style Weddings.
Reason why I love this couple is not only because of their genuine and quirky interaction with each other, and also for their impeccable style and incredible talent in singing. No doubt there were criticism of Jo Kwon being too effeminate or that the show is staged, as a fan, I still prefer to believe for the period when they were “married”, their care and concern for each other was real.
Back to the fashion of this spread, I love the wedding gown Ga-In had on. It is not the common strapless wedding gown that we see ever so often. The short sleeves and humble neckline was a stark contrast to the backless detail with a sheer train at the back. It is classic and beautiful. I also love the shot of the couple on the green scooter against the yellow background, which gives the photo a real pop of colours and the adorable short gown that Ga-In had on is just great to show off her pretty legs, despite her petite physique.

Funky Menswear
I constantly hear grumbles from my male friends how difficult it is to find decent menwear in Singapore, especially with the weather constraints and lack of variety. Singapore men seems to look for only 2 things in their clothes: Comfort & Versatility. Best if they can wear the same item on different occasions, and more importantly fit the hot humid weather here in Singapore.
Most girls I talk to love it when their men wear uniforms (army green ones or those formal military garb which I see some men wear for their wedding, much like Prince William), or wear suits. My personal preference is when the men wear smart business suits that is well tailored to their body type, accessorize with tie or bow tie. I tell my girlfriends that I get very “turned on” when I see men dressed like that. HAHA
To women, the idea of men wearing less is not more. In fact the more smartly dressed you are, the more we can take you seriously. However such preference does not bode well with Singapore’s weather, so Singapore men has to be creative in their dress-up, aside from polo tee/soccer jersey, paired with bermudas and jeans.
For me, I think Korean and Japanese men dressed very well. When I was in Japan last year, I am always pleasantly surprised to see men dressed in smart suits on the subway and JR lines. And from all the Korean drama serials I watched, the Korean men are always fashionably dressed, not afraid to wear bright and bold colours, layering and funky designs like deep v-neck sweater with no shirt underneath.
Though sometimes the men can come across to be crossing the realm of feminine with their pinks and deep v necks, I enjoy seeing men being experimental in their outfits, instead of being safe and boring. But please, no slippers paired with jeans or long pants, OR white socks with black pants. That would be just horrid.
